Having graduated from Gajah Mada, Sanata Dharma University, and Rutger the State University of New Jersey, Nugroho began his professional career in 1983 as Head of District Training Centre, Senior Facilitator Management Development, then Quality Improvement Coordinator, Senior Human Resource Specialist and lastly as Manager Expatriate Administration Formalities & Immigration, at Caltex Indonesia.
He spent three years as Manager compensation, Benefits and Policies then lastly as Manager Communication and Media Relations at Chevron, before moving to Chandra Asri as General Manager of Human Resource and General Affairs.
Currently, Nugroho is the Vice President of PR and GA at Kangean Energy Indonesia, Ltd. He is also lecturing at Master of Management in Communication Trisakti University and guest lecturing at master programs in several universities.
